Haresh Karnan is a Staff Research Scientist at Apple working on personalization, reasoning, and AI safety. Previously, he was at Amazon AGI, and at Zoox, where he worked on RL post-training for foundation models. He received his PhD from The University of Texas at Austin, where he specialized in Reinforcement Learning, Self-Supervised Learning, and Artificial Intelligence for Robotics with Dr. Peter Stone. He received his MS in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, in 2018, where he was advised by Dr. Robert Skelton, and his Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, in 2016.
